Republicans angry at Justice Dept for Atty firings

Sen. Ensign (NV - R) reports being very angry at the Justice Department for firing the Nevada US Attorney, Daniel Bogden, who he had recommended without informing him. Sen. Specter (PA - R), ranking member on the Senate Judiciary Committee, informed Attorney General Alberto Gonzales "One day there will be a new attorney general, maybe sooner rather than later."

The Washington Post adds:
Even two of the administration's strongest defenders on the issue openly questioned the Justice Department's handling of the dismissals. Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) called the lack of explanation for the firings "unhealthy," and Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.) said the department's public criticisms of the ousted prosecutors were unwarranted.
These are in addition to the rumblings from the Democrats in the Senate.

The high-handed manners of the Department of Justice and Alberto Gonzales are causing quite a backlash.

Of course, the backlash from Republicans is because the Administration made them look bad. The Democrats are a lot more interested in simply regaining power in the White House.
