Rudi Giuliani is setting up his argument to the voters - elect him and he will continue aggressively fighting terrorists. Elect a Democrat and the Democrats will return to the pre-9/11 defensive posture of simply responding when attacked. Eleanor Clift of Newsweek warns that if the Democrats don't quickly take this challenge on before it takes hold then Giuliani could well win the White House in 2008.
I think that Ms. Clift has an excellent point. The Democrats need to be presenting a muscular posture against terrorism to the public. I suspect that we will be seeing all of the Democratic candidates for the Presidential nomination coming out with such policies soon.
