Washington Post management is out-to-lunch

The Department of Defense is conducting a "memorial walk" on September 11th, with right-wing country singer Clint Black as a prominent guest. The management of the Washington Post in its' wisdom has decided to sponsor this Iraq War glorification party.

The Posts' Newspaper Guild leaders are objecting.
"The Guild supports The Post's stated intention of honoring the nation's veterans, including those who have served in Iraq," the resolution continues. "But the Post undermines this goal by lending its support to a political event that links the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks to the war in Iraq -- a link that The Post, in its reporting, has shown to be false.
Support for veterans can be displayed a lot of ways, but this sponsorship of the DoD's pro-war gathering does nothing except place the Washington Post of the side of the Iraq War supporters . It calls into question the objectivity of the news organization.

It was a bad idea by Washington Post management.
