White House violates law - refuses to give required Iraq info to Congress

In the Defense spending bill passed May of this year there was a little noticed requirement that the Pentagon give Congress
"a comprehensive set of performance indicators and measures of stability and security" on the Iraq war.
The deadline? July 11, 2005.

Think Progress presents the response.
A spokesman for the Pentagon told me today that those Iraq indicators have been “delayed” and that there is currently no specific date for their release.
Either the administration has no idea what is going on in Iraq, or they do know and they really, really don't want Congress and the America people to find out how bad things really are.

The insurgents know the answer to those questions already. It is only the American people and Congress that the administration are keeping secrets from.
