What does the stalled Bolton nomination mean?

For anyone who wants to know what has happened over the last couple of months on the nomination of John Bolton to be UN Ambassador and what it means for the tone of Washington, the Bush administration, the Senate and the Washington political Press, here is a succinct summary by Steve Clemons at the Washington Note.

Clemon's summary is extremely interesting. This is a description of how the White House overstepped and failed - repeatedly. It is also a description of how Frist and the Senate Republican leadership simply failed. It is also a description of how the Washington political media failed and still has no real clue what to do.

The Bolton nomination is now segueing into the nomination of Supreme Court Justices, and will after that segue into the election of 2006. There are a whole lot of surprises yet to come, and the Bolton nomination shows what they can consist of.
