Conservatives to take over Episcopal Church USA

I had really wondered what all the fuss was about. Now, PastorDan has explained it. It's another right-winger with mega-bucks and a conservative agenda. Secret money and everything.
Howard Ahmanson, who seems to be the leading money man behind the conservative "renewal" movement in the ECUSA. [Snip]

The goal of this movement is not theological realignment, but political, to weaken the organization of the ECUSA in order to make it more pliable before a radical Religious Right agenda. Robinson's
[See below * ] consecration is the wedge to an eventual takeover of the denomination, much like ultra-conservatives wrested control of the Southern Baptist Conference from moderates and transformed it into a platform for Republican moralism. It's an attempt, in other words, to remove a voice of possible dissent in the secular conservative revolution and replace it with a much tamer one more amenable to revolutionary goals.
This article and the ones it refers to are worth reading. It is a part of the conservative attempt to take over the USA politically.
