Josh Marshall of Talking Points Memo discusses the possiblity that Senator Lieberman will cut a deal with the Republicans to "compromise" with the Republicans on Social Security destruction.
By himself, Senator Lieberman will not get private accounts passed, but he might get a few others to go with him.
What is up with that man? Is he so blinded by his years in the Senate that he does not realize you can no longer compromise with the Republicans on the big "signature" issues?
I really hope that Senator Reid, Congressman Pelosi, and DNC Chairman Dean can get together with Lieberman and make him understand his freelancing is destructive to the Democratic Party and to the American nation. Senator Lieberman's tin ear to political realities is really puzzling.
