Josh Marshall point out that the more than $10 billion America has given to Pakistan since 9/11 has been given directly to Pervez Musharraf without any strings or audits. Is there any doubt that it has been used to build Musharraf's patronage network? That means that America has been propping up Musharraf's dictatorship practically since his takeover coup in 1999.
Clearly money is power. How could the US Supreme Court declare it to be merely "political speech" under the Constitution, I wonder?
