Time to draft college Republicans

Mak Blumenthal has a great documentary posted at Huffington Post. It's a report on his interviews with College Republican chickenhawks.

They are fervent in their support of the war - as long as someone else fights it for them.

The idea that a draft that would draft the children of members of Congress would force the Congresspersons to be more serious about their rhetoric and their votes is certainly true. But if you really want to create an anti-war climate, just start up a draft that would begin yanking the young Republicans out of College.

The U.S. would be out of Iraq within two weeks after the first college Young republican actually reported to basic training. The only issue that would matter is how to get enough ships and planes over to the Middle East fast enough to evacuate the troops. They'd even accept a tax increase to avoid personally defending America.

This is the Dick Cheney - George W. Bush syndrome. They all say "I wholeheartedly support the war! But I really, really don't want it to affect my life in any way!"

End the War! Draft young Republicans!

It really is that easy.

Then maybe we can get a government that will get serious about going after terrorists and others who threaten Americans while it also works to solve the American health care crisis and do something about the loss of good-paying American middle class jobs and their life-styles.
