Short takes

Interesting facts:
  • Sarah Palin is the first governor chosen as Vice President since Spiro T. Agnew in 1968.

  • Democrats are out-registering new voters over Republicans by significant numbers. See also Democrats post big gains in voter registration.

  • McCain's campaign is having trouble honoring the intellectual property rights of artists and others. The Huffington Post has an interesting article on how the McCain campaign has illegally used the songs "Right Now" by Van Halen, "Running on Empty" by Jackson Browne, "Barracuda" by Heart, "Still the one" by Orleans, and "Can't take my eyes off of you" by Frankie Valli. So much for the Libertarian fiction that was Bush's so-called "Ownership Society."
