McCain stumbles through an interview with a local TV reporter

Joe Sudbay posting at Americablog offers a video of an interview with John McCain on local station WCSH6. McCain stumbles through it looking a lot like a drunk trying to act sober.

Here is John's comment "NOTE FROM JOHN: Watch McCain about a minute and a half into the tape, when he's asked what National Security credentials Sarah Palin has. He replies "energy." The reporter goes, no, I asked you about national security. McCain then says that Alaska is close to Russia. They're amazing."

McCain is a man who is 72 years old with a youth marked by boxing, hard partying and a great deal of drinking, all of which is known to cause brain damage that becomes much more clear during old age. This is in addition to his privations and injuries during his five-and-one-half years as a POW in Hanoi.

Considering McCain's marked recent mental deterioration, advanced age and his battering in his youth, for him to choose a religious extremist with no significant education as his vice Presidential running mate is nothing short of completely irresponsible.

But it has worked for his campaign. Since choosing Sarah Palin as his running mate, McCain has found that instead of his small venues of at most several hundred individuals, when he campaigns with Palin together they speak before enthusiastic crowds of thousands. The Republican extremist religious right thinks that in Sarah Palin they have one of their own a heartbeat away from the President, and that heart is beating irregularly.

Are we ready to turn the American Presidency over to a female Elmer Gantry? That's what electing the aged and failing John McCain amounts to. It's no wonder that the Dominionists are excited about the nomination of Sarah Palin as John McCain's running mate.
