David Brooks has a new reason why Obama can't win the Presidency

Want to know why David Brooks doesn't think that Obama can win the Presidency? Remember the question "Who would you like to drink a beer with? Try this.
This morning on MSNBC, David Brooks created the "Who would you like to share an Awesome Blossom Onion with" meme:

"Obama's problem is he doesn't seem like the kind of guy who can go into an Applebee's salad bar and people think he fits in naturally there."
First. Applebee's doesn't have a salad bar. Why would we listen to Brooks if he doesn't know that?

Second. We've just had seven and a half years with a multimillionaire President sold by his handlers as someone you would like to have a beer with. He's been a disaster because (among other things) he simply hasn't been up to the job.

This time I want someone who is so damned good that he can come from literally nowhere, obtain a Harvard Law Degree on his own, enter the Democratic nomination as a dark horse candidate and take the nomination away from the strongest candidate the Democrats have fielded in years. I'm not hiring a frat boy as President so that he can become the beer-drinker-in-chief. I want someone who has proven that he can think effectively, lead people, deal with unexpected challenges, and doesn't need to a teleprompter that is held down to four word sentences because he can't deliver a speech with more complicated ideas.

So let's outsource the beer-drinking to Bush and McCain. Leave the Presidenting to someone who appears competent to handle the job.
