The excuses for Bush leaking classified info won't wash

Steve Clemons places the actions Bush took to leak classified information to the press from the National Intelligence Estimate into perspective.

The information that Bush directed to be leaked has not been officially declassified, and is not in the archives where any researcher can go look at it. Also, Larry Franklin and Donald Keyser have both been arrested and judicially determined to have leaked classified information. No matter what excuse is given for Bush, he has done exactly the same thing as subordinated of his have been declared guilty of. Even if no one dares to arrest the President and the Republican-controlled House refuses to impeach him or otherwise bring him to justice for what he did, he is still morally guilty.

With his Approval ratings at the low, low level of 36%, the American public recognizes Bush's moral guilt.
