Gonzales admits lying to the Senate last month

Abu Gonzalez just sent a letter (.pdf) to Senator Specter to "clarify" what he told the committee last Februrary 6th in front of the cameras. It is clear from the letter that there are other NSA surveillance programs in which purely domestic spying on Anerucan citizens take place, and probably have been doing so for three to four years. Gonzalez limits his statements strictly to the one so-called "Terrorist Surveillance Program" which has been admitted to by the President, and none of the others which are secret and certainly as illegal as hell.

Glenn Greenwald does an excellant job of parsing out the truth from the lies we are being fed by Gonzalez.

Whenever pointing out these lies to Republicans they become hysterical. It reminds me of an episode from the original Star Trek series in which Mr. Spock says:

"I fail to comprehend your indignation sir. I merely made the logical deduction that you are a liar."
